Universal Studios - An Orlando Family Vacation Must See
Universal Studios Resort has something for the whole family with two exciting theme parks, a nighttime entertainment center and a nearby water park. In 1999, the park expanded to include Islands of Adventure, Universal CityWalk and several on-site hotels. In 2007, the Wet N' Wild water park was also added to the resort.
Universal Studios is very unique in that you actually get to "ride the movies." With Universal Studios Florida tickets, you are able to explore various movie inspired rides. The park is also broken down into the six themed areas including Hollywood, New York, San Francisco/a second theme park, Islands of Adventure, which features even more rides and excitement.
Islands of Adventure features five "islands" and you begin at the "Port of Entry." From here you can visit Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, The Lost Continent, Marvel Super Hero Island and Seuss Landing. Late in 2009, a new Harry Potter park will also be open for even more fun and excitement.
You can access Universal Studios tickets throughout the year. One interesting family event that takes place annually is Halloween Horror Nights. This is one of the largest Halloween attractions and events in the U.S. and takes place each year at Universal Studios. Each year the event takes on a new theme. For instance, in 2007 the event was themed the "Carnival of Carnage." It featured several film characters from famous horror movies including "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "A Nightmare on Elm Street."
